In September, a group of adventurous year 12 students made their way to the hills of Exmoor, to take part in their qualifying expedition for the prestigious Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The expedition, which involved 23 students in four teams, took place over three full gruelling days of walking, with two overnight camps at designated sites. It involved some very challenging routes – all of which had to be planned by the students themselves.

Megan T (16) – a member of the ‘Cirque de Sore Legs’ team, said: “The DofE award has allowed me to discover and develop new skills and interests, I would definitely recommend it!”
