Crowds descended on the school in May for the live broadcast of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Any Questions’, hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby.

Watched by a packed hall, the guest panel comprised former Defence Secretary Dr Liam Fox MP, former Liberal Democrat leader Lord Ashdown, Former Labour front bencher Rachel Reeves and Baroness Jenny Jones of the Green Party. They faced questions on topics ranging from famous gaffes to the EU referendum.

Mr Gregson, Deputy Headteacher at Colyton, said, “It was great to see so many people – parents, governors and the wider community, all coming together in the newly refurbished Cottrill Hall – it’s a pity that we haven’t got twice the capacity!”

“Our thanks go to all the people who ensured that the event ran so smoothly, including Mr Cook, the school’s Business Manager, who masterminded the evening”, he added.

Mia S, a Year 12 Colyton student who attended the event said: “There was an interesting range of questions that were thought-provokingly answered by the panel.”

‘Any Questions’ is broadcast weekly on a Friday evening on BBC Radio 4 at 8pm, presenting political debate and discussion through questions from a live audience. The episode broadcast from Colyton is currently available on the BBC iPlayer.
