Six year 12 students from have attended the regional finals of the national ‘F1 in Schools’ competition at Exeter University.
Over the course of several months the team has digitally designed, manufactured and tested a miniature F1 car powered by compressed air.
Following a number of timed races, the Colyton team’s car finished in second place.
Team Manager, Jonathan W said: “It was a fantastic learning experience and really helped to develop our communication, organisational and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) skills.”
The team now progresses to the national final at Silverstone Circuit in April, where they will be pitted against the other regional winners and runners-up from across the country.
