Year 9 student Isabella S has won the Daily Mail’s Great British Wildlife Photography Challenge in the Juniors category for under-18s, beating 10,000 other entries.

Isabella (14) used a Sony DSC-HX300 with a neutral density filter and a slow shutter speed to ‘get the shot.’ “I was pleased with it because the image takes you a while to work out what it is”, she said.

Isabella won £1,000 of top-of-the-range Nikon camera equipment and a publication of her photo of a jellyfish washed up on Seaton beach in the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine.

Some of those on the judging panel included wildlife expert Bill Oddie, Countryfile’s Ellie Harrison and Springwatch host Martin Hughes-Games.
