This year, Colyton Grammar School’s annual Garden and Food Festival aims to be better than ever.
On Saturday 7th May between 10am – 4pm and with free entry, the school will be transformed by the Parent’s Association into a festival of stalls, entertainment and activities aimed at raising as much money as possible for the school’s Space 4 Science Appeal.
Numerous stalls will be awash with quality garden plants and equipment; and there will also be craft stalls, tombola, a raffle, a second-hand bookstall, and children’s play areas.
Delicious locally-sourced artisan-produced and home-made foods will be available. The BBQ will serve quality burgers and sausages.
Colyton students will put on science, drama and art displays and play live music alongside Tae Kwon Do demonstrations and Seaton Majorettes.
Colyton Grammar School desperately needs more specialist science equipment. 88% of students are studying at least one science to A-level, and the lower four years take all three. In the past, the Festival has raised over £4 000 and this year’s profits will contribute to the £100,000 target.
“We’d be delighted to welcome as many local residents as possible, as well as the friends and families of our student community,” said Mrs Petra Bacon, the PA secretary.
