On Saturday 23 January 2016, the school’s equestrian team travelled to Bicton Arena for the NSEA inter-schools, inter-county U18 Eventers Challenge.

The team, comprising Indie H (Y8), Georgie S (Y11), Rachel H (Y11) and Hatty T (Y7), put in a great performance, producing lovely rounds which resulted in them being victorious and winning the competition as a team. Rachel H also picked up 5th place in the individual placings. This was an especially remarkable achievement for this team as they were up against tough competition from many Southwest teams such as Blundell’s, Maynard, Exeter, Stover, Wellington, Millfield and many other independent schools.

The following weekend the team was back at Bicton to compete in the NSEA Show Jumping competition. Again there were great performances from the team, which this time consisted of Bella B (Y10), Georgie S, Rachel H and Hatty T. They achieved a great result in the 100 ( the biggest class) coming second, narrowly pipped by the Blundell’s A team.
Unfortunately these events were not qualifiers for the annual National Championships in Buckinghamshire, which this team competed at last year, however these results stand the girls in good stead for qualifiers later on in the year. Equestrian Team - Jan 2016
