At the Exmouth Sea Cadet Annual Award Ceremony in October, Rupert was presented with a shield for being chosen as Exmouth Sea Cadets Junior Cadet of the Year 2015.

He was commended for always wearing his Sea Cadet uniform correctly, for his excellent lead in the parade ground at their recent inspection, which was the day before his 12th birthday when he became a Senior Cadet, and for always putting in good effort for every task he’s presented with.

The following Saturday Rupert and two of his sisters travelled to Gosport to spend a week at sea, with Sea Cadets from other units in the country, aboard T. S. (Training Ship) John Jerwood. Each day they sailed to a different location, including the Isle of Wight.
