Colyton Grammar School’s new Cottrill Hall has opened after over seven months of refurbishment, and has already been used for a Higher Education evening, The Big Colyton Art Show and a Comic Relief lunchtime stand-up comedy event.

With 240 roll-out seats, a server for public events, a spacious lighting gallery and a foyer, the new building is a much improved venue. 
The project, which also included the construction of new changing rooms in the Sports Hall, cost approximately £2.6m, with £1.24m coming from an Academies Maintenance Fund grant.
Paul Evans, Headteacher, commented, “Since I have been Head, it has been my ambition to sort out the school hall and I’m delighted with how it’s turned out!”
He added: “It is a great asset to the school, and the improved lighting, acoustics and air conditioning will be excellent for putting on productions and many more school events.”
